Edelson McGuire, a law firm from Chicago, filed a class action suit on behalf of their client, Illinois based Real Estate sales associate, Katie Szpyrka, who is claiming that LinkedIn had a security policy that deceived users regarding the security of their information by not complying to ‘accepted industry standards’ regarding ‘database security’
Users will have to prove that they suffered harm and as exact details of the breach is not yet known and as LinkedIn disabled affected accounts and no LinkedIn account has yet been breached, according to LinkedIn, this may prove difficult to do.
