Social Proximity

Software development trends indicate that the direction that is being followed is that of expanding the ‘social’ nature of your smartphone. You being your smartphone is still the trending direction that is being followed. Your searches provided by Google is biased to your physical location and apps by Facebook informs/warns/advises/indicates that you are close to someone you know. Soon you can do proximity dating, exchanging profiles with someone that is close to you and is also listed as looking for a date, you can mark someone to stalk or follow.

Obvious criticism of convenience social proximity applications are many, the most obvious are privacy concerns but human nature being what it is, the development direction is valid and will be supported by millions of young people. As people get older they develop different needs and require different levels of privacy, security and convenience.
