Size does matter, the death of mobile content

Remember five years from now: You read this here, first…

Small or big, a question that many people will be asking themselves as they have to re-evaluate software development roadmaps that insisted five years ago, that everything is going mobile.

The future is coming and it is huge.

Trend reversal:
Mobile is out and it is all going BIG again. Small device to control the big device, people love comfort, they love hassle free large quality displays, voice activated, voice typing, proximity activated HUGE plasma screens…

As the costs of 50 Inch (and larger) screens are falling, so is the uptake from consumers on the increase. That on its own is not so significant as it is obvious but what is driving the ‘back to big’ push is user and content interaction. The ability to intercat with your content and in real time, to be involved in the outcome of a series or movie and to respond, post, share and communicate whilst absorbing content.

Other factors such as pixel depth, quality of experience, multi level integrated cloud content, communication and entertainment integration as well as developers already now moving to device specific content as well as multi screen content, underlines the future.

Watching an advert, ordering and immediately paying for your purchase, being able to virtually walk through the supermarket and do your shopping (on your tv), checking out and in an hour or two (or whenever you scheduled). Ding Dong, the delivery is at your door…

Big is better, comfort is good and size does matter…
