ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has released the intended date that the TLD application system should be available again. The previous deadline of 12 April 2012 was extended and then cancelled as ICANN experienced security problems with the online application system. ‘It is anticipated that the system would remain open for five business days and close on 30 May. This takes account of the 28 May Memorial Day holiday in the United States’ said Akram Atallah the COO of ICANN. More from the ICANN website
Mobile devices presents much less revenue from advertising than PC platforms
According to Facebook the average time spent on their website, by mobile users, has increased to 7 hours and 21 minutes (Twitter time in March was around 114 minutes, source Comcast).
Facebook has been showing fewer ads on mobile devices.
Because there is less available media space on mobile devices all mobile content providers are limited to displaying short, less attractive and less visually stimulating advertising media, which results in much smaller levels of advertising revenue on the mobile platform when compared to PC. Mobile users are also less inclined to click on sponsored stories and other links than PC users. According to Facebook, Personal Computer users are now spending an average of 6 hours and 31 minutes on their site.
